An Energetic Approach to Healing

Reiki provides healing to animals at all levels, mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Reiki does not require physical touch and is therefore beautifully suited for the treatment of animals from the cuddly house pet to the unapproachable, traumatized rescue. The practitioner provides a gentle, non-invasive space for the animal while still providing healing. Allowing an animal a safe zone to heal without the fear of contact is life altering for those animals who have been victims of abuse, were wild, or are sick beyond trust of physical contact.

Any animal’s body has the innate ability to heal itself if given the chance. Unlike most treatments, which are done to an animal, Reiki is considered a treatment done with the animal. Together through mediation and energy guidance the animal and practitioner open the channels of blocked energy, revitalizing the body and allowing it to heal.

Sanctuaries and shelters that open their doors to Reiki volunteers are floored by the positive outcomes of this healing practice. Reiki provides their animals much needed stress relief, and in some cases, physical healing which emotional trauma has caused. When an animal enters a shelter, they are in a strange place surrounded by animals they don’t know and people that are strangers. This can be exceptionally stressful for them and in many cases, is displayed by shaking, pacing, and barking. These same animals when visited by a Reiki practitioner will lie down, deeply sigh, and take a long overdue nap. Since the treatment of Reiki is irresistibly peaceful and stress relieving, it is not only a great tool for healing illnesses and injuries but also for high stress and anxiety cases.
